–A series of 40 two-minute video clips is being made in New Zealand, for a multitude of media. My Story will be shown on TV (Channel 4) five nights a week before being available for download to 3G phones, and then a week after the broadcast the entire week’s episodes will be available to view online, along with exclusive bonus material reports Stuff. The episodes will cost 20c each to download to phones, which is among the most reasonable pricing I’ve come across.

–Intel and MobiTV have signed an agreement to ensure that Intel mobile devices support MobiTV’s technology, reports Tech. This seems to be move of MobiTV out of the straight cellular realm, probably linked to its move into WiMAX. The devices in question are Centrino notebooks, Ultra Mobile Personal Computers (UMPCs) and Mobile Internet Devices (MID)…I’m not sure if the MIDs are mobile phones, but it doesn’t sound like it (release).

Business 2.0 has a summary of mobile TV in the US, but throws in some interesting stats at the end. Only 0.4 percent of mobile devices sold worldwide can pick up mobile TV broadcasts (it’s unclear if this is MediaFLO, or in general) but the figure is expected to increase to 10 percent by 2011, according to Informa Telecoms & Media. It also states that “the global mobile-TV business could be worth $31 billion by then, up from $2 billion now”.
