Actually, I would happily pay $.99 for a show while I would NOT pay 1.99. TV shows are NOT like songs. Songs I want to OWN so as I can hear again and again. V Shows I want to watch ONCE, usually when they are on, and if I miss them I can set up my VCR, DVR, or watch them online at the vendors site. I would happily pay to RENT them for .99, just like I would pay to rent movies - but after I watched a show, it is a RARE show indeed I want to keep and watch again....

I think Apple needs a model for renting TV shows and movies. I hope they do it soon or they will truly be beat to the punch...

Any price decrease would be great for consumers, but it could harm indie producers who are also trying to sale their wares online...just means we have to produce better and better content.

Actually, Robert, we've been able to confirm it independently. I just updated to that effect. The idea, as we mentioned above, is that increased volume would make up for the price cut.

I don't believe the Variety story. Steve Jobs has a good sense of the customer's take on value and TV show videos are not equal in value to a 3 minute audio clip! They are worth more to the customer in entertainment value despite the repeated use of music. This is just another attempt to keep alive the NBC story for advertising revenue.
