Cinema fansite and blog Passionforcinema (PFC) has announced the launch of PFCOne, an online film festival which will be judged by directors Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, Nishikant Kamat, Suparn Verma, Pavan Kaul, Hansal Mehta, among others, reports the Hindu. The films need to be just one minute long, and will be screened at the website between December 1 and 5; prizes on offer include film and scriptwriting internships. Looks rather promising: PFC is a site with regular contributions from film buffs and Bollywood directors, which has been bridging the gap between fans and filmmakers. Now it’s giving aspiring filmmakers a chance.
Update:: We’re informed in the comments to this post that there’s another space for filmmakers to showcase their content online – Buzz18, a Web18 site, has partnered with film producers Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) for an online film contest. The contest is judged by producer Rongita Pritish Nandy, ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakar, documentary filmmaker Paromita Vohra and director Ruchi Narain. Winners get a 3-film contract with PNC. Short films from the contest are already up.
I just noticed that it’s been specified in the comments (no 52) to the PFC post that the rights to the content remain with the rights owner, though the content is showcased at PFC. Couldn’t find the related terms and conditions at Buzz18.
