- Joost: Stephanie Röckmann-Portier has joined platform Joost as VP of content strategy and acquisition. She was VP sales and head of factual programmes at Alliance Atlantic International Content Distribution Group. She will report to executive VP of content strategy and acquisition Yvette Alberdingkthijm, C21 says. Though Joost is headquartered in London, Alberdingkthijm’s content team is with the sales team in New York. But Röckmann-Portier will be based in Brussels and will work on content owners in Europe.
– Skype: Michael Jackson, who had been VP of operations at Skype and one of its first employees, is now at Mangrove Capital Partners. He had been one of the last of the Skype management team to remain after it was bought by eBay (NSDQ: EBAY) and left less than two weeks after Niklas Zennstrom announced his departure. Mangrove had been one of Skype’s earliest investors, and, as Jackson points out in an article in the VC firm’s last newsletter, had been the ones to originally interview him for the Skype job.
– Balderton: Roberto Bonanzinga is joining Balderton Capital as a partner. He has held senior and advisory positions at a number of digital media start-ups including Jambaz, Jaiku (just acquired by Google), Mobango, Piczo, Woome and Pageflakes, as well as with early VoIP players like Viatel.
