Percept Holdings, through it’s digital media arm Percept Knorigin, has acquired Searchize, a Mumbai based search engine marketing company, reports Television Point. Searchize was started in 2004, and offered search related marketing and analytics service, in a market that (we’re told) has come to be dominated by another Mumbai based search marketing and analytics company – Pinstorm. It’s open to conjecture whether the Percept acquisition will help Searchize, become an important player in this market, or whether it gets integrated into Knorigin and becomes just another one of Percept’s offerings.

Last year, Percept had sold off it’s stake in WebPercept, and earmarked $10 million for acquisitions. This is the first we’ve heard of, though there are no details of the deal available (let us know using the anonymous tip-box in the left column, if you have an idea). Percept has also launched an ad network – AdChakra. So is it a good time to start an agency, given the number of large advertising agencies looking for acquisitions, or is it too late now…What’s your take?
