Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) has just filed an 8-K with SEC, detailing 2008 compensation for its top execs:
– President Susan Decker’s base salary for 2008 went up to $815K up from $500K last year. She also has been awarded a cash bonus for 2007 for $1.1 million, up 29 percent from her bonus in 2006 was $850K, when she was still the CFO of the company.
– Blake Jorgensen, the CFO, got a 2008 salary raise to $500K, with a 2007 bonus of $405K. He joined Yahoo in June last year.
– Michael Callahan, the general counsel, will get $420K for 2008, and a 2007 bonus of $225K. He received a $200K bonus in 2006.
In these troubled times for Yahoo, the salary raises will certainly raise some eyebrows. Meanwhile, CEO Jerry Yang’s salary remains at the token $1 amount.
This is absolutely sickening. I can make a case that Sue Decker is one of the biggest failures in the Internet space, perhaps one of the worst ever after squandering Yahoo's once-dominant position at a time when so much value has been created by Google and others. She has failed and for that, she has been rewarded. We know it's you, Sue. Time to resign.
