Independent game developer Monte Cristo, the creator of the CITIES XL online game, has raised EUR 4.5 million ($7 million) Arts Alliance, 360ยบ Capital Partners and Innoven Partenaires. The Paris-based company has been around since 1995; it’s previous raises are not disclosed. Funding will go towards further development of its city-building game, a genre that’s been popular since the seminal Sim City. Release.
