Any former Yahoo sales employee that was not Greg's friend will tell you that this is a disaster move by AOL. There are several internet sales people's at Google and others that understand the web much better and are respected, and do not have a long history of employee and sexual harassment problems. Why get someone that already divided and unmotivated sales team will not respect or like?

I'm not sure why you're having a hard time finding former yahoo's willing to speak about AOL's Greg Coleman hire. I'm hearing a tremendous amount of positive buzz, because those that worked with Greg know that he's an inspirational leader and a sales legend. Greg is a master motivator and organizer, and if anyone can put together AOL's vast disparate parts and win in the market, it's Greg. AOL is instantly relevant again.

The thing that I find amazing is the stability at the senior management level of AOL given their inability to get anything right. After the disastrous acquisition of Bebo and these quarterly number, you would think Jeff Bewkes would have been proactive in chopping off Ron Grant's or Randy Falco's head.

How can Bewkes be happy with the results and the new valuation that Google has slapped on AOL?
