– Microsoft: Having tackled the business side of Microsoft’s MSN, Hotmail, mobile products and search facilities as business manager for online services at Microsoft’s Washington HQ, Jo Wickremasinghe is to move over to London as the company’s international head of product management for consumer local activities and mapping. Her remit is to “devise and implement product and marketing plans for Multimap“, which became the centre of a new Commercial Search as part of a restructure last August. The company says Wickremansinghe, who joined in 2002, grew revenues 34 percent year on year since the relaunch of Hotmail in 2007.
– Activision-Blizzard: World of Warcraft producer Activision-Blizzard has appointed Thibaud se Saint-Quentin as SVP and MD of European publishing based at the company’s European HQ in west London. He’ll be in charge of sales and marketing, something he has vast experience of, but in a rather different sector: de Saint-Quentin spent 20 years as VP of Kraft Food’s European coffee business. He replaces Joerg Trouvain who is leaving the company and the games industry for “personal reasons”. Release.
– Setanta: After its disastrous loss of half its rights to live Premiership games to BSkyB (NYSE: BSY), Setanta has now lost its director of corporate development, Richard Brooke. A former BSkyB executive, Brooke was partly responsible for lobbying Ofcom on reducing Sky’s control of live sports rights in the UK since he joined in 2005. Guardian.co.uk.
