imageA significant hire for MySpace’s global development: the social networking site has appointed senior BBC marketer Lindsay Nuttall to the new role of international marketing director, as Guardian.co.uk reports. Nuttall is currently marketing director across BBC Two, BBC Four and the Beeb’s factual programming but gained experience of going after MySpace’s youth demographic while promoting shows such as Skins and Big Brother during seven years at Channel 4, where she also promoted the launch of E4 and More4. She will now be responsible for MySpace’s marketing strategy outside the US.

MySpace says Nuttall will not replace Jamie Kantrowitz, who has announced she will leave her London-based role as VP for international marketing and return to the US to work for MySpace Music. A direct successor to Kantrowitz is not being sought.
