Adlabs Announces Media BPO; To Employ 1,200 People Within A Year
Adlabs Films Ltd, part of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group, today said it was setting up one of the largest digital restoration and content processing facilities in the world. The facility has started operations with 300 people, and will scale up to 1,200 people in the first year, the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The facility will be spread over 90,000 sq.ft and will comply with standards of Motion Pictures Association of America, in what is clearly a bid to position the unit as an outsourcing hub for Hollywood post production.
The BPO is already digitalizing 1,000 films from the National Film Archives. “Over the last four months, Adlabs has also transmitted several films over its optical fibre network to distribute movies in the US. This capability opens a floodgate for media services to be carried out in India for major international media clients,” the company said in the statement.
Great news for unemployed individuals. Though there are so many companies terminating their operation, still, other companies have the guts to continue or open new one.
This is a great move by adlabs. it has the expertise, it has the infrastructue, it has the contacts and it has the money too. this is a great business move by adlabs and i consider they have the potential to become the largest Media BPO of the world. Outsourcing is there to grow & after call center outsourcing, media & digital outsourcing will grow at high speed.
