may i remind you that enron&#039;s internal numbers worked for years. 

ok, that&#039;s a little over the top, but unless nyt (and anyone else who bytches about their counts) opens them up for verification, it&#039;s all hot air.

otherwise, if nielsen, quantcast, compete and (even) alexa employ a methodology that is consistent across all web properties then i&#039;d say the numbers are fair for comparison purposes.]]></description>
