Sprint Sees Record Sales With Pre
The Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre saw the highest opening sales of any device on the Sprint (NYSE: S) network, breaking previous sales records for both first day and first weekend for a Sprint device. There’s no absolute number given in the press release, but there is a nice story about someone lining up for the Pre on his wedding day. Analysts predicted between 50,000 and 200,000 handsets would be sold, and since retailers were reporting shortages it’s clear that Sprint could have sold more if it had managed to get the gadgets out there. Also, Sprint is offering a $40 for 500 Mb of data plan for corporate users who don’t use mobile data that much (release).
As an iPhone user since the first gen. I can honestly say that we finally have competition. This is by far the best looking OS I have seen since OSX Touch. MS, Samsung and others have better start getting their shit together cause Apple and Palm are about to shut the game down on their asses fast.
