Reports: Why People Do Not Buy An iPhone

Two reports released today looked at the smartphone buying habits of consumers, especially when it comes to the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone. The NPD Group reported results of a survey today that asked people why they are not buying the iPhone, while Crowd Science looked at the likelihood of current smartphone owners buying an iPhone as their next device.
– Why not buy an iPhone?: The NPD Group said today the primary reason why consumers do not want to an iPhone was “lack of interest” (55 percent), and close on its heals was “high price (42 percent).”
– If you want one, but don’t buy one: NPD Group also found that one in five mobile phone owners, who say they want to buy an iPhone, don’t buy one because of the cost of the data plan and because they don’t want to change carriers to AT&T (NYSE: T).
– iPhone or BlackBerry: In a separate report, Crowd Science said it found that among current smartphone users, who don’t have an iPhone, 38 percent will probably or definitely buy an iPhone as their next phone. Among non-BlackBerry users, only 14 percent would consider buying one.
– iPhone users are loyal: Crowd Science also found that among current iPhone users, 82 percent would purchase an iPhone again. But among non-iPhone users.
I'd rather go without cell phone service than to be tied to AT&T as my wireless carrier. AT&T only takes care of business users not individual customers, and the bulk of iPhone users out there are on plans paid for by their employers; so, forking over the high price for the phone is nothing when the boss is paying for the service plan.
Looks like that last sentence is missing a phrase, what about loyalty for non-iPhone users?
iphone is not all that,it does not give the people what they want for instance, what happen to all the promise like voice gps, 3g vedio camera and more. there apps and itune stink when they do not response to email. AT&T plan is too high nothing like sprint or T-Mobile, all these company has gps and email in the plan. iphone needs to step up the service is too much not to have the gps and free email build in the paymeny plan. what are you going to do about this I hate to return my 3gs iphone and go back to sprint.
