T-Mobile USA Rethinks Charging Customers For Paper Bills
T-Mobile USA has decided not to charge $1.50 a month for those who still want to receive a paper bill in the mail, AP reports.
The policy was expected to go into effect last weekend, because of negative feedback from customers and the threat of legal action, T-Mobile has decided not to implement the fee “for now.” The wireless carrier received a warning from New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who wrote in a statement that the company couldn’t impose new charges without allowing customers to end their service contracts early. “My office will not sit back and let a company change its prices under the guise of “going green,’” he said.
Just get rid off the bill altogether and the extra $1.50 will seem like nothing compared to what you can save each month. I recently discovered the joys of prepaid where it seems the competition is much fiercer among the carriers. Still got that 50 bucks plus plan giving you only 450 minutes and no texting plan? I got myself a Straight Talk prepaid for 45 bucks. Unlimited talk and text plus 30mb of data. 411 calls are free. And it works really well 'cause it's on Verizon's network so it's true nationwide coverage.
