Sports Illustrated Is Launching In India On 5 October
An Indian edition of Sports Illustrated, the american magazine best known for its annual swimsuit edition, will hit newsstands on 5 October. It will be priced at Rs100.
The Indian edition will be the third international edition for the 55-year-old magazine, which launched licensed editions in China and South Africa in 2006. The magazine will be published in India by Dennis Media TransAsia, an equal stakes joint venture between UK’s Dennis Publishing and India’s Media TransAsia.
The Indian edition will also bring out a swim suit edition sometime in 2010 featuring Indian models, Media TransAsia CEO Piyush Sharma said. Sharma’s company also publishes the India edition of Maxim.
Sports journalist Sundeep Mishra will be the editor of the magazine.
Whoa, that must be a great news for all the sports lover. Every sport lover just relishes on Sports Illustrated and it will be a much awaited release. Hope, that paves way for other international magazines in India as well.
