Industry Moves: Yahoo India Sales Head Pearl Uppal Resigns
Pearl Uppal, director, sales, at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) India, who headed monetization across all revenue streams for the Internet major’s India operations, has resigned (via e4m). She confirmed the development, and said she was serving her notice period.
Uppal has worked at Yahoo India for seven years, having joined at an early stage in the company. Prior to Yahoo, Uppal worked at Rediff.com (NSDQ: REDF) and General Electric (NYSE: GE). We are yet to hear from Yahoo India about a replacement.
According to industry sources, Uppal is setting up an online retail business with backing from European and Indian investors. Further details about the venture weren’t forthcoming.
