@ed dunn — It's not a completely original concept, but I think Vook has been creative with its execution. I really think it depends on the subject matter of the book, and also, whether the author is into online video, etc., whether the Vook format works.

It is the fact. We tried it. Really – video in the book imposes stereotypes. To look cinema easier. We use dynamic images only for creation of mood and we reflect an event vector that the audience could imagine a scene. A sound too. A karaoke – not the best tool. Interactivity – allows to change a plot and to deepen narration layers. Multimedia it is good, when more than two media. Instead of a hybrid of the text and video. Try to download Adobe Flash plug-in.

I do get Vook being able to pass this off as some hybrid type thing, but I don't get the fact we looking at something the people at Adobe have designed.

Vook means nothing, it resembles any Flash "magazine" template with video embeds we can get for $69.95

What really matters is the authors and their involvement in producing these video/ebook hybrids. Most authors would not like video attached to their writings and rather let their audience imagine the scene for themselves..
