– Sky-Xbox problems: The technical problems that beset the launch of Sky’s channels on the Xbox 360 have continued: Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) has now suspended all access to the service and is running a gradual “revised rollout”. The company says: “Unfortunately due to the unprecedented levels of simultaneous demand, we did not have the capacity to satisfy all service requests…” Tens of thousands of users are now being added each day.
– iPlayer on Freesat: The BBC will begin beta testing the iPlayer on Freesat boxes by the end of the month. Also in the pipeline is integration with HTML devices (this has been a niggling problem so far) and an Adobe (NSDQ: ADBE) Flash version, which should be available in beta by April next year. – Channel 4: Following the BBC’s foray into live TV-based social networking with a Strictly Come Dancing app, Channel 4 is doing the same with its popular Come Dine With Me show. The broadcaster has hired Monterosa Productions to create a social viewing experience for this Sunday’s show, through Monterosa’s Reac.tv site.
