So, what is happening over at MySpace Records? Early Friday morning, Digital Music News confirmed the departure of label GM J. Scavo, who is now heading to Hollywood Records. But the label will remain an ongoing concern, according to sources close to the operation.

The rest is up in the air. At the moment, decisions are being made about exactly what a retreaded MySpace Records will look like, though the artist roster is safe. The label, distinct from MySpace Music, has focused on finding, developing, and upselling talent in partnership with Interscope.

The Interscope alliance will remain in place, though according to one source, MySpace Records may heavily re-focus itself on A&R. The label had been branching itself out with more traditional label departments, but that direction could be scaled back.

Kate Voegele and Mickey Avalon are among the label’s biggest finds. “There have been success stories,” one executive relayed.
