SinglePoint Sells Off Carrier Pipes To Ericsson; Focuses On Mobile Advertising

SinglePoint has sold off a piece of its business that has roots stretching back 16 years. Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC), the Swedish infrastructure provider, has agreed to buy some of SinglePoint’s assets, which will enable it to send premium and standard text messages in the U.S. Release.

The aggregation model is a failed model pumped by internal carrier teams looking for control, power and to rub shoulders with big media. If upper management at carriers only know the potential it had and what they are losing to the mobile internet, email and apps by not opening up.
Carriers are realizing but it may be too late. Network API initiatives are in full effect and thus the aggregation model will soon fade.
