LinkoTec, which has developed a web-based service which people can use to manage their media files, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding. The company’s product — Dazzboard — lets users transfer their music, photos and video from a device to a computer and then manage it via their browser. The company describes Dazzboard as an “open iTunes.”
(Apple (NSDQ: AAPL), however, is reportedly plotting a web-based version of iTunes using the technology it acquired in its purchase of music site LaLa — something that would seemingly take away any competitive advantage Dazzboard might have).
Helsinki, Finland-based LinkoTec’s funding round was led by HTT Sixgen. Veraventure also participated.
