Ex-Yahoo Bill Wise Named CEO Of MediaBank

Former Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) exec Bill Wise is getting ready to take charge at advertising analytics company Mediabank, MediaMemo reports and paidContent has confirmed. Wise will replace Brad Keywell as CEO. Keywell, who co-founded MediaBank with current Blue Media president Eric Lefkofsky, will remain with the company as a director and advisor, a MediaBank rep told paidContent. Both Keywell and Lefkofsky will work with Wise through the transition. In addition to helping start MediaBank, Keywell and Lefkofsky also co-founded social shopping site Groupon.
Wise told paidContent he was leaving Yahoo last month. He’s currently still transitioning out and will start his job at MediaBank in the next few weeks. Wise became part of Yahoo when he was president of ad exchange Right Media, which Yahoo acquired in July 2007. Most recently, Wise served as VP of Yahoo
Bill is probably one of the most successful snake-oil salesmen you will meet. Each of his companies have been a scam a minute.
@ JEsko— Sure… Accenture (top IPO consultantcy- worth $23 billion), DoubleClick (IPO, then acquired by Google for $3 billion), Right Media (Acquired by Yahoo for $850mm), Yahoo ($20 billion value)… scams? I want to be part of ALL those scams… consider me in!
Bill is a great leader, I can vouch for that. He is also a great salesman (though I dont agree with J Esko’s snake oil comment). I think he is joining MediaBank, to assist in the sale of the company, he is amazing at that (Right Media for $850mm). Wish you the best Bill.
I worked for Bill 10 years ago… he leads with conviction and is a visionary who knows how to operate. Deals with customers and employees honestly and fairly. Two thumbs up to MediaBank for landing him.
