Warner Music Gets Tap Tap Revenge With In-Game Music Channel, Promotions

As part of Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG) CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr.’s efforts to expand its mobile reach beyond iTunes, the company is partnering with iPhone and iPod touch gamer Tapulous to promote and sell its artists’ songs. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The agreement follows a similar deal Tapulous struck with Universal Music Group back in March.
Over the next year, Tapulous will release and promote four games featuring best-selling WMG artists. Premium paid games will include the artist’s greatest hits and bonus tracks of remixes, previously unreleased material or live recordings. In addition, Tapulous will sell downloadable songs from WMG
Tap Tap keeps getting better with every release. I’m an especially big fan of the addition of the indie channels, as it gives us indie fans access to lots of songs that I was pleasantly surprised to have…but it also came with some great major artists, too. Some of my favorites in the game are Florence + the Machine, Tokyo Police Club, Thrice, Attack, Attack, Stars, Justice, Middle Distance Runner, Shapes of Race Cars, Minus the Bear, Earl Greyhound, and Ra. good job guys.
