Donovan Taps Rubicon’s JT Batson To Head Digital Division

It’s hard to believe, but some media buying transactions still require a fax number to get things done. For the past few years, companies like Mediabank and Donovan Data Systems have been trying to drag media agencies and sellers into the 21st century with software that allows for online transactions of ad buys. Still, the industry has a long way to go. Donovan is hoping that new hire JT Batson, who left online ad firm Rubicon Project earlier this month, will be able to get agencies to embrace digital methods once and for all.
Batson, who has been with Rubicon almost since the beginning, has served as the company’s EVP, Revenue and Global Development. At New York-based Donovan, he’ll be charged with overseeing the company
Slightly skewed. The agencies and media have wanted this for quite some time, the software systems available to agencies has not been, to this point, in the 20th much less the 21st century. Thankfully, companies like Invision are moving to the agency side from the seller side and can do it. This is a good move by Donovan to try to compete.
