Chris Grosso is leaving his post as SVP for emerging digital businesses at NBC Universal (NYSE: GE) to become general manager of AOL’s homepage, Webnewser reported. In essence, Grosso, who was with NBCU for four years, will oversee the rotation of news stories and other posts on AOL’s homepage, which has been undergoing some reform over the past year. In this new post, he will report to AOL (NYSE: AOL) Media and Studios president David Eun.
Grosso’s hire comes amid some changes on the content side. Last month, content vet Marty Moe said he would be leaving AOL next month. In the meantime, AOL is hoping to get some more entertainment deals together and has named former board member Jim Wiatt, who was previously chairman and CEO of the William Morris Agency, to take on a new full-time role as strategic advisor for the company.
