Koofers, a site which offers various resources for students taking classes at universities, has raised $5 million in its first round of funding from Steve Case’s Revolution, along with other backers. Koofers features course materials, professor ratings, and study aids pertaining to classes at more than 400 universities — all of which are available for free. The site, which has more than 300,000 members, says it will use the new funding in part to add more content.
The startup, which is led by former AOL (NYSE: AOL) SVP Gio Hunt, had previously raised $2 million from backers including Atlantic Ventures and Altos Ventures. Those two firms, along with QED Investors, also participated in this round.
