How Ozzie was supposed to replace Bill Gates but do it while under Balmer is beyond me. I remember being confused when he was first brought on and presented as filling the hole left by Gates. How do you fill in for someone like Gates who ruled Microsoft when you are placed under a sales guy? Ozzie isn’t being replaced because I think they must have finally realized you can’t replace Gates and have Balmer in his present position at the same time. Something has to give and obviously in this case it was Ozzie.
