Bloggers have a 'social role' whereas journalists are in the business of uncovering facts...?

It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly out of touch and inaccurate Murdoch is, regarding the modern times.

He *wishes* the world of media looked like that, because then he could somehow justify charging people for (so-called) expertly written content that's actually free elsewhere.

Sadly for him, the world of media categorically doesn't look like that and it doesn't matter how many gazillions his empire is worth, the paradigm shift is larger than him.

That's gotta hurt.

Hence spouting pointless nonsense as air cover.

Were we so good you can't find a successor or so rotten you don't give a hoot?
There's one more thing-that bag of money. They keep trying to get rid of capital punishment and rewarding mediocrity. All you get is more mediocrity and punished for performance. Try making bread without yeast and see what comes up. It's a career of evils vs. don't be evil. Such boys girls. Yes?

Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.
