"What ever happened to TV’s internet revolution?"

Its coming, its only amateur writers who think it should have happened. Capitalism slows down progress because people can't afford to afford replace everything all the time.
Its also why its a evolution rather than revolution. It will happen over the next 15-20 years.

Once IPTV's hardware interface is designed correctly, when it is intuitive, logical and efficient, viewers will be drawn into using the service without resistance. If it is as easy to watch their favourites or play-queue as it is to watch whatever is being pumped-out by way of mainstream linear broadcast, viewers will watch what they want to watch with no further consideration for the various means and technology by which it is delivered. Any flat-earthers want to take my 'says-so' £100 ?

@Dag Wigum,

That statement was confusing to me also and sound like he want to lose a hundred-quid. Both linear and on-demand programming can co-exist but there is absolutely no way we can say that linear programming will last because it fails to assign IPTV to mobile viewing device - that is the flaw of this whole argument which I found confusing.

You cannot take mobile out of the IPTV equation and mobile VOD IPTV is already exploding in emerging countries.

"“I’ve got hundred-quid bet with somebody - it won’t ever be more than 20 percent of viewing that will be non-linear. Young peope don’t plan ahead."

Since when do you need to plan ahead to use an on-demand service? He's maybe stuck in "PVR-mode" with a HD instead of a VCR. That is not a connected TV....
