I have both services on my computer. Filmon is much more technologically pleasing with frame rates eqivalent to actual television. The player also has the ability to record! Nice selection of channels too. 3 days ago it was a better selection, but hopefully that can all be worked out soon. Full screen is great. I have it streamed right to my TV. My girlfriend came into the room and thought I had it on our local cable station. It looked that good! Filmon knows what they are doing when it comes to making this a pleasant service to use. That's for sure. I hope they can reach an agreement with the networks. I would definitely pay for this if they can get the right selection of channels back. On the other hand I happened to download ivitv last night. I don't have quite as many positive comments about them. I will say that they have a goood selection of channels. Networks from 3 cities. New York, Los Angeles and Seattle. That is their strong point. On the weak side is their player. It's actually not so much a player as it is a custom browser. Even when you watch a channel on full screen you still get stuck staring at your computers tool bars as well. One on top and one on the bottom. Personally it's not the way I choose to watch television. I just want to see full screen video without the browser stuff. The frame rate on ivitv sucks too! It doesn't appear to be any more than 15 frames per second. So the video is not smooth. Even though each individial image is very clear, the jerky image is unpleasant to watch for any great length of time. Television needs to be more fluid motion and less like watching an internet video. As soon as ivitv fixes those two major problems they will definitely have a competitive service. But right now I am hoping that filmon sticks around. They clearly already have all the technological stuff worked out.
