Publishers have been able to deliver a slick rich media web experience (audio, video, interactivity) for about 10 years already (using Flash) but have generally chosen not to. For some reason, everyone thinks the iPad created a technology leap allowing publishers to deliver rich media over the net. It&#039;s didn&#039;t. It&#039;s been achievable for many years. The big leap is getting publishers to change their mind set from web-as-a-print-replica to web as rich content. That&#039;s the challenge.

I wish Flipboard the best of luck. I hope they succeed.]]></description>
