I’d like to see some more perspective given to the number of iPads in circulation relative to the number of print and non-iPad digital newspaper readers.

Would total iPad numbers be equal 1%, 2% or 5% of the total number of newspaper readers?

Until the number hits 5% it is a freak show and until it reaches 10% it is still a tiny minority. I’m not saying the iPad or wider tablet market won’t happen – it probably will — However I worry we’re more inclined to get carried away with what “maybe” rather than what “actually is”.

The iPad is fun, but I really can’t see it replacing newspapers any time soon. The number of people who even own iPads is tiny compared to the number of people who read newspapers. As for getting all of those people iPads… £1 to buy a newspaper to read on the train or in the pub while you wait for a friend vs. £600 to buy an iPad? No contest, really.

There is no possible iPad will kill Newpaper, as me, I like read in print way, I just use the iPad send e-mail, play game and watch movie, as for reading news, Newspaper is very convenience, I can take it anywhere or anytime. But for most of people, e-reader is very comfortable. >iPad is also the best Christmas gift this year.
