Carriers set to sell apps? Don't be ridiculous. The only one really selling Apps is Apple. Android, with all it's cookie cutter iPhone rip-offs, can't even come close, not even in the same ballpark. Apple has paid BILLIONS out to developers (and that is only their 30% cut, Apple got 70%). Google? Only a pittance--the users only download free apps, and most aren't worth paying for. If the users were serious about having an iPhone, they would have bought a real one and not an Android.

No one else is selling 'apps' they are all shuffling around, trying to copy Apple yet again and this time even using the same nomenclature which Apple has always used and the competition is only using the term App to appear relevant. They are not.

HI Ouriel. You are absolutely right. Canalys only counts what it calls "direct revenues". I've now put in a line about this--thanks for the suggestion.
