Well I must agree in one sense – no question that Apple nailed RIM in the nuts, but it was due not just to the user-touch interface, it was a lot more. BTW The Bold has a touch UI and a kboard – and gets skewered. The Torch has a touch screen – and gets skewered. Seems that most analysts will skewer them anyways no matter what.
Yet RIM’s Playbook is doing well overseas, the company is still growing internationally.I guess I just want the same standards of criticism applied across the board (something I guess which is unrealistic). The critics have been slamming RIM endlessly while Apple gets away virtually scot-free with its launch of that awful product LION OSX which has proven to be poor quality and a bug-ridden disaster. http://www.dedicatedserverdir.com/news/ShowItem.aspx?ID=90628Nobody really slamming them for it really – just a bunch of TameApplePress seals, I guess, who refuse to nail Apple on anything. Compare that to the absolutely belligerent articles on Playbook.

Because executives at RIM makes ‘strange’ decisions. At least HP had the balls to admit that its tablet wasn’t going to do great and it showed the leadership and vision at their end. RIM is still chasing dreams with such higher prices and yet low-quality and old-style BB’s. Also, regarding QWERTY KB, there is a reason that Apple is kicking RIM where it hurts the most i.e. consumer just love the touch screen and not so much enthusiastic about this so called early 2000′s design. It’s 2011 :)

MOTOROLA was really the “NEXT PALM”, yet nobody calls them out for their inability to even turn a profit.
RIM gets called out for offering a great QWERTY/touchscreen device, with BES support and BBM etc – and even though RIM knocked out MOTOROLA, you ignore this and instead decry RIM’s pricing….
