There's an article on our blog this morning about how, in today's mobile app world, the 99.999% approach to system uptime co-exists with the "good enough" approach, and what that means for network operators through to app publishers. http://appcarousel.wordpress.com/2011/10/17/when-five-nines-99-999-co-exists-with-good-enough/

Great article. I would add one thing: "RIM, you need to remember how loyal many of the developers have been, and how they have stuck it out, continuing to develop for your platform. And in general, from most of the developers I know, they feel let down on many fronts. You have never helped them financially, instead you have charged them to attend your conferences and to be members of your developer program.. It's time you showed genuine respect for the developer community, because they are tired."
