I say the same thing. Your comparison between a 16 and 32 is pretty odd. I would have just compared apples to apples and not miss lead. It makes your writing YOUR veiw or feelings on it not facts.

I saw that already before I submitted the comment — but in your lede, you still made the apples to oranges comparison. My criticism remains valid. Interestingly, this same bracketing error was picked up by other news organizations.

Nowhere in the rule book of good journalism (which doesn’t actually exist, of course) does it say you’re not allowed to mildly defend yourself against people who accuse you of making “misleading” and “absurd” comparisons having read just two sentences. Good commenting requires reading the entire article first.

Had you made it all the way to the second paragraph, you would have noted that I said the following: “The phone does come with 32GBs of storage, which is the same amount of storage that costs $299 from Apple, but it means that Android fans who want a new phone but have to watch their budgets carefully won’t have a cheaper option.”

The point is that Apple can cater to all price points with basically the same phone, while Samsung can’t: it has its pricing set by Verizon and that reduces the chances that budget-conscious buyers who might have thought about buying the Galaxy Nexus will take the plunge.

This story is misleading, as the Nexus costs exactly the same as an iPhone 4S with the same amount of memory. It just doesn’t offer a more stripped down model. So the line “But it is worth $100 more than the iPhone 4S?” makes absolutely no sense. You could compare it to the 4S with 64GB and say that it costs $100 less — as absurd a comparison.
