Why doesn’t this person provide some specific features hat are missing from the new Apple software, instead of making generalized assertions. Did the reporter ask for specifics as well?

“It’s a good way of producing a very glossy app,” he told an audience. “But it’s a huge missed opportunity. Maybe it’s a good first step. But I’d be be very worried that Apple thinks they’ve done it now.

This is the quote of a guy who doesn’t know Apple. Why would you be worried that Apple may think they have done it now. Anyone who knows Apple knows they are never satisfied. The platform will continue to develope. And there probably isn’t anyone who could come close to competing with them because again, they have caught the world off guard.

And I agree with above poster who said you clearly didn’t watch the presentation.
