The massive patent sale allows what remains of AOL in the near future to be nicely integrated into the world of Microsoft when it eventually acquires AOL and pushes forward with whatever plan it has to enter the broader social media terrain. This AOL/Microsoft offering will most likely become the core of your XBOX connected world interface and experience. Let’s just call it a down payment.
