Tom,

Inkling seems pretty cool to me. Google may not be relied upon to support free software like google.com/ig, but what Company can?
Google can definitely be relied upon to support paid software, like Google Apps for Business. www.EasygApps.com

With Safari as an "unsupported browser", Inkling clearly has some kind of agenda - it recommends downloading Chrome. So - who is behind Inkling? I refuse to use Chrome because of Google's totally arbitrary decision to abandon Google.com/ig - thereby depriving millions of people of their favourite home page. Google cannot be relied upon to support anything.

My wife is a published author of Chinese-language textbooks. We tried adapting several chapters using iBooks Author, and while it was relatively easy to use and did allow us to create some neat features (flashcards!), we quickly found it limiting. I bought Inkling's CIA textbook very soon after its release and have been impressed with their interface design. If it lives up to its promise, Habitat could very well be the right tool for creating the kind of rich media textbooks that will really make e-publishing shine.
