Advertising Blog AdRants Sells Major Stake To MarketingVox

AdRants, one of the oldest advertising industry blogs, has sold a major stake to Watershed Publishing, the parent company of online marketing blog MarketingVox, among others. The deal is a combination of cash, equity and sales commission concessions, the company says, and will value Adrants.com at $750K.

Watershed had been selling ad inventory on AdRants for a while now, so this is a natural progression. Steve Hall, AdRants founder, started blogging by writing for the earlier incarnation of MarketingVox back in 2002, before he left to start AdRants…he will now continue on with the new company. (Thanks Steve for the clarification)

To clarify, Watershed Publishing is taking a “major” but not “majority stake” in Adrants. Adrants will still be majority owned and operated by Steve Hall.
