Allen & Co Confab Tweets: More Than Enough

So little of any news value really comes out of the annual Allen & Co confab in Sun Valley that Twitter is the perfect medium for it. In fact, it might be more than what’s required. The usual coteries of Reuters, FT, WSJ, LAT and NYT (NYT isn’t there; here’s why) reporters are there, and some are tweeting, mostly about each other. Participants’ tweets are mostly missing, in keeping with the off-the-record nature of the event, and would be interesting to see if the organizers had any policy on tweeting from there.

Anyway, if you so desire, follow the tweets in the widget below:

Thanks for pointing out what is a big problem in tech/media journalism.

I'm quite disappointed to say the least about the "twitter people" and their small talk covering this event.  They appear to act more like socialite groupies than people who can report information, perspectives and read between the lines.

No wonder TMZ is doing so great - because TMZ have real journalist skills…

A little harsh, no? It's an interesting way to provide some character and color when our dry wire stories often can't do that, at least at Reuters. If you sent someone here, how many blogs would they have to post to justify the cost? Probably more than enough for the average reader. Not that I've done the math…
