Alliance Health Raises $3.3 Million For Health-Related Social Networks

Health-related social networking company Alliance Health Networks has raised $3.3 million in a third round of funding led by Highway 12 Ventures. EPIC Ventures also participated in the round. Alliance Health owns DiabeticConnect.com, which it says is the largest social network for people with diabetes. The site had almost 900,000 unique users last month, according to Compete. New cash will be used to build additional social networks for other diseases. The company will have now raised $6.6 million since its start in 2006. Release.
