AOL, Burnett Postpone ‘Gold Rush’ Sequel; Not Likely To Happen This Year

We had a tip that AOL and Mark Burnett was canceling Gold Rush Goes Hollywood, the sequel to last year’s successful online game show. Not so, says an AOL spokeswoman—but the show won’t launch as planned in September and “likely will not happen this year.” Why postpone a show touted as one of the five top projects at the spring AOL First Look? Spokeswoman: “It wasn’t coming together the way we wanted it to. Season I was such a success, and we were having a hard time topping it. We are just taking the time to get it right.” She said they’d had “a lot of advertiser interest” but that she wasn’t aware of any signings. “The other First Look programs are on track,” she added.

NO NO NO NO NO Don’t do this to me! I Have spent the past year wasting all this time keeping up on the celebrity bullsh** that is needed for this game… I have been holding my breath waiting for it since it ended. I’m proud to wear my shirt that I won as one of the top 5000 in the bonus round! Please bring it back… just use the format you had! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Keep GR just as it is…

Let’s start the same internet campaign that saved the show “Jericho”. Every single Goldrusher send AOL an email DEMANDING that they bring it back THIS YEAR. Keep the game the same. It’s perfect just as it is (just fix the site problems).

All for one and one for GOLD!
