AOL Pulls Plug On Yourminis Start-pages
Time Warner’s AOL (NYSE: TWX) is pulling the plug on yourminis customizable start-pages, less than a year after buying Goowy, the San Diego-based startup that creates them. The Flash-heavy, widget-populated pages helped yourminis stand out from a slew of other start-page creators, but the company is shuttering the service to focus on creating widgets. ReadWriteWeb says an AOL rep was quick to clarify that the company wasn’t shutting down yourminis as whole, just killing the start-pages and trimming features from the widget gallery.
