Barnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) is adding another seasoned digital exec to its team, this time to head digital education efforts. Tracey Weber joins Barnes & Noble as EVP-textbooks and digital education from Travelocity, where she was president of Travelocity NA. It’s the second key digital hire for B&N in as many months—the company lured Jonathan Shar away from Time Inc. (NYSE: TWX) to be GM-digital newsstand and emerging content for BN.com. It also follows the promotion of digital head William Lynch to CEO “to lead the company’s transition to multi-channel distribution,” as Leonard Riggio, chairman of the board, put it.

With Weber’s hiring, B&N is prepping for an industry-wide expansion in digital education; the company has 600 campus locations. Her responsibilities include developing, implementing and managing Barnes & Noble’s digital education products and services. Release.
