Bear Stearns: FIM President Talks Video Portal, Third-Party Distribution
FIM President Pete Levinsohn made his investor-circuit debut at the Bear Stearns conference in Florida Wednesday and it sounds like he covered a lot of ground, although it’s hard to gauge how much is new. One aspect capturing some attention: his comments on video distribution. Via Variety: “We’re in very active negotiations with all of the media companies to create the most robust video offering from professional content on the web.” No clarity on whether he’s talking a video portal JV, increased programming through MySpace, or some other option. He did decline to call it a “YouTube killer.”
—He said a major obstacle to working with other media companies is making sure those in charge of digital operations have the ear of top execs.
