BroadWebAsia Buys Partnership Stakes In Two Chinese Video Sites
Aside from fashioning himself as the underdog challenger against Rupert Murdoch’s bid to buy Dow Jones, Brad Greenspan, the internet entrepreneur best known for helping start MySpace during its formative days (and even that is disputed a bit), is now using his investment company BroadWebAsia to acquire stakes in Chinese video sites Mofile.com and Hubotv.com. No word on how much Greenspan is investing or how the stakes are portioned out. The sites involved reach a combined 48 million unique visitors per month, the companies said. While Mofile is known as a general video sharing site, Hubotv produces original and viral content. Greenspan established BWA two years ago and has since invested in several Asian tech companies. The company recently acquired an unspecified stake in search company Bbmao.com. Release
