—Inauguration streaming stats: Akamai, which powers streaming video for many news and media sites (including YouTube and the New York Post), says 7.7 million people watched streams concurrently during the inauguration, a record for the company. Runner-up Limelight said 2.5 million people watched the ceremony on sites that use its platform. CNN said it had streamed more than 21.3 million live feeds by 3:30 pm EST on Tuesday, topping the record 5.3 million streams it clocked on Election Day. (Via CNET)
—Brides.com to stream wedding fest: Conde Nast’s Brides.com will stream its Sky High Weddings promotion live this Valentine’s Day. The marathon of weddings will be held atop the Empire State Building; Gannet-backed Mogulus is powering the stream.
—ABC kicks off Lost-themed video competition: ABC.com is hyping the new season of Lost with the “Lost: Showdown,” an online video promo that lets viewers vote on their favorite moments from the show. Clips from various seasons will compete each week; viewers vote for the one with the most impact. The winning clip will be revealed the second week in February.
