Business News Blog Network Xconomy Gets Second Round Funding

The world’s still turning for online publishing startups, a bit: tech and business news blog network Xconomy, based in Boston, has closed its second round of funding. Previous investor CommonAngels led the round, which included new investor LaunchCapital and previous angel investors, though the amount was not disclosed. Likely it is enough to help them through a prolonged downturn.

The company, launched in June last year, was founded by Robert Buderi, previously the editor-in-chief of MIT’s Technology Review. It started with a Boston-area tech site, and then expanded into Seattle and San Diego with local area sites. It is cleverly keeping out of heavily covered regions like NYC, SF and LA. Besides the sites, which are ad-supported, it is also moving into events. More details here.
